Four of the
the walks below start at the gate to ‘Karori’, with an easy
stroll along the National Park easement and the 4WD Tabletop
Mountain Service Trail to the start of
Tabletop South Ridge
. All four include a trip into the Cocks Comb
(rated by Frank Lowe, the great photographer, as his favourite
place).
-
The other is
begins and ends on the the northern (Enmore) side of Blue
Mountain Creek, though it is still almost entirely on the
Winterbourne 1:25 000 map. It involves both a car shuttle and
the traversing of separate private land at the beginning and
end.
-
All five descend into
the Macleay system, so each involves a climb in and out of at
least 500 metres.
